Steele coming back to Tobs; tickets on sale for Reds in Five County Stadium

As the baseball season is heading for its last week, I've got a couple of items for next year.

The Wilson Tobs announced Monday that Jeff Steele will be back to manage the summer collegiate baseball team for the fifth straight season.

Steele has become an icon of sorts for summer baseball in Wilson and his Tobs teams have played exciting baseball in the past four seasons. Glad to hear that Jeff will be back in town next May because the Tobs wouldn't be the same without him.

Some more baseball news for Carolina Mudcats fans. Tickets will go on sale Wednesday for an exhibition game featuring the Double-A Southern League team's new major league affiliate, the Cincinnati Reds, on Friday, April 3.

The Reds opposition will be an all-star team of talent from the Cincinnati farm system. Tickets can be purchased over the phone using a major credit card by calling 919-269-2287 or by visiting the Mudcats Web site. Tickets will also be sold at Five County Stadium.
